Livestock Protection Program

Non-lethal control methods for livestock protection

About the Livestock Protection Program

The Marin County Board of Supervisors has continued to support and appropriate funds to the Livestock Protection Program. Recognized non-lethal control methods such as protection animals (guardian dogs and llamas), electric fencing, scare devices, and herd shepherding are initiated through cost share funds to approved livestock ranchers. The Department administers verification inspections and cost share funding for ranchers participating in the program. Please reach out to us if you are interested in participating in this program.
