Summary
The Vineyard Erosion and Sediment Control (VESCO) program was established to protect public health, safety, and welfare by minimizing erosion and sedimentation in connection with vineyard planting and re-planting in Marin. The goals is to both protect the lands, streams, oak woodlands, and riparian habitat of the county while also ensuring the long-term economic viability of the county's viticulture, agricultural and natural resources. Any person planting or re-planting a vineyard needs to notify the agricultural commissioner's office. For VESCO best management practices and/or a VESCO application, please contact our office.
