Who we are
The five members of the Board of Supervisors serve as the legislative and executive body of Marin County. Supervisors are elected by district to serve a four-year term.
- District 1: Supervisor Mary Sackett (1st vice president)
- District 2: Supervisor Katie Rice
- District 3: Supervisor Stephanie Moulton-Peters
- District 4: Supervisor Dennis Rodoni (president)
- District 5: Supervisor Eric Lucan (2nd vice president)
What we do
The Board of Supervisors has the overall responsibility for the function of county government.
- The Board serves as the governing board of the County Free Library and of many special districts such as Parks & Open Space District, Transit District, and the Housing Authority.
- The Board passes all ordinances governing the county and is responsible for seeing that mandated functions are properly discharged.
- The Board adopts the County budget; sets employee salaries and directs a wide variety of services to county residents.
Where we serve
Marin County is part of several regional and multi-county special districts. In addition to serving on the Marin County Board of Supervisors, members of the Board also serve on external City, Regional, State, and National boards and commissions, including (partial list):

- District 1 - Supervisor Mary Sackett District 1 includes the majority of the City of San Rafael and unincorporated communities Lucas Valley, Marinwood, and Santa Venetia.
- District 2 - Supervisor Katie Rice District 2 includes the towns of Fairfax, Kentfield, Greenbrae, San Anselmo, and Ross. It includes part of the City of Larkspur and part of the City of San Rafael.

- District 5 - Supervisor Eric Lucan District 5 includes the majority of the City of Novato and the unincorporated communities of Bel Marin Keys, Loma Verde, Black Point, Green Point, Rush Creek/Atherton Corridor, and Indian Valley.
