Biography
Marin County's District 1 elected Mary Sackett as their representative on the Board of Supervisors in June 2022, and she was sworn in to her first term in December 2022. Mary is passionate about environmental stewardship and outdoor recreation, and fostering the next generation of civic leaders.
As Supervisor, Mary serves on the California State Association of Counties, Great Redwood Trail Agency, MCE Clean Energy, North Bay Watershed Association, Marin Housing Authority, Marin Transit, Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit, and Transportation Authority of Marin boards. Prior to her tenure as Supervisor, Mary practiced law in Marin while being an active community member; in 2017, Mary left the private practice of law and began working as an Aide to then Marin County Supervisor, Damon Connolly, serving District 1. Outside of her role as Supervisor, Mary is also a member of the San Rafael Harbor Rotary and the Marin County Bar Association.
Mary is committed to listening to residents and taking meaningful steps to create workforce housing, holistically address homelessness and get people off the streets, close gaps in our bicycle and pedestrian networks, strengthen our disaster preparedness, and make Marin a place where all people can thrive.
