Biography
Eric was first elected to the Marin County Board of Supervisors in 2022. He is a Novato native, a graduate of Novato schools, and a life-long resident of Novato.
He started volunteering and giving back to his hometown by working with and mentoring young people as a church youth director, volunteer soccer coach, and volleyball coach. After earning his MBA, Eric returned to Novato and served as a volunteer chaplain with the Novato Police Department and as a Parks and Recreation Commissioner from 2007 to 2011. He was first elected to the Novato City Council in 2011 and served as Mayor in 2014, 2019, and 2022.
Professionally, Eric is an accomplished marketing executive with 20 years of experience. Prior to being elected to the Board of Supervisors, Eric served for eight years as the Chief Marketing Officer for Mike's Bikes.
Eric and his wife Kiley are proud parents of their son, the ever-curious Noah, and daughter, the always smiling Selah.

Accomplishments
- Reduced Marin County’s largest RV encampment on Binford Road by two-thirds by focusing on a housing-first approach with supportive wrap-around services. Efforts are ongoing.
- Increased wages for In-Home Support Service (IHSS) care providers from $16.95/hr. to $20.40/hr. IHSS care providers support Medi-Cal eligible aged, blind, and/or individuals with disabilities safely in their home.
- As board member and chair for both SMART and the Transportation Authority of Marin for over a decade, helped leverage local dollars to construct the two largest infrastructure projects in the North Bay: SMART rail line and the widening of the Marin-Sonoma Narrows.
- More specifically with SMART: successfully prioritized free fares for youth and seniors, making transit more affordable and accessible for all; extended passenger service to Windsor; and awarded the construction contract for the long-anticipated extension of the SMART rail line to Healdsburg – all with continued record-breaking ridership!
- Worked with the Marin Foster Care Association, City of Novato, and the Marin Community Foundation to secure a 10-unit studio apartment complex in Novato to house youth who are aging out of the foster care system.
- Our Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution affirming our commitment to immigrants and democratic values and allocated $500,000 to local community-based organizations to support our immigrant communities.
- Implemented a new Paid Parental Leave Benefit for eligible Marin County employees - a clear reflection of our commitment to supporting our workforce and our employees through life’s biggest moments.
- Secured funding to elevate a key section of State Route 37 to guard against future flooding and enhance habitat connectivity for San Pablo Bay - ultimately raising the roadway by 30 feet over Novato Creek by 2029.
