We work with the community of Dillon Beach to preserve the environment and protect the public health. Good wastewater policy helps protect residents, workers, and visitors by preventing injury and the spread of disease.
Our study
This study aims to find the best ways to manage wastewater for the Dillon Beach Village Community.
We are studying options:
- upgrading existing systems
- creating a management group
- setting up small systems for groups of homes
- connecting to nearby sewer systems
- building a new community system.
Recap
We held a series of meetings in 2018 and 2019 to discuss options and gather feedback. Residents and property owners answered a survey about their key issues and concerns related to water and wastewater.
At the final meeting, we achieved unanimous support to proceed with a grant request to conduct a feasibility study of alternatives for a community wastewater (w/w) system.
In October 2022 a contracted engineering firm provided a feasibility study report of our options, related costs, and management requirements.
