Request a consultation

Optional steps to speak or meet with us before you apply.

Free pre-submittal meeting

This is an optional step to meet with one of our inspectors before submitting your application for construction work on a public pool, spa, or spray ground. Free 15-minute consultations are available on a first come, first served basis each Thursday morning. If you’d like to schedule a longer consultation, this is available for a one-hour minimum consultation fee.

1-hour pre-submittal pool plan review consultation

During a pool plan review consultation, our inspector will either:

  • Meet you at the pool site to discuss construction options (such as issues with enclosures, equipment rooms, and existing pools)

                   OR

  • Do a high-level check of your plans and paperwork

We can help make sure that your application has everything you need to submit.

A pre-submittal pool plan review consultation can save you time later. You can fix any problems now before you start the formal application process.

Remember that we’re not formally reviewing your project or deciding to accept or reject it. We’re just providing feedback to help you improve your application before you turn it in.

How to arrange for a 1-hour plan review consultation

Contact us to schedule a consultation with our EHS Pool Plan Reviewer. We have a 1-hour minimum fee for the consultation.

Use the Public Pool Construction Application and Checklist to make sure you have all the materials you need. Bring all your application materials to your scheduled consultation.

When we meet, we will tell you if your application is ready or if it’s missing anything you need to submit. We will do a complete review of your plans once all materials and fees are submitted to us.

What's next?

Be sure to follow the instructions our staff gave you during the consultation.

Then, the next step is to apply to build, remodel, or upgrade a public pool or install equipment. You can find instructions for this application process on our Pool Plan Check Process webpage.
