What we do
We conduct health and safety inspections to ensure all properties are free of public health violations. We also investigate complaints for multi-unit housing properties, including apartments, hotels/motels, and bed & breakfasts in the entire county with exception of San Rafael and Novato.
Our focus:
- Hot water and heating
- Mold, sanitation, and pests
- Toxic hazards like lead and asbestos
What we don't do
Our office does not have authority over every housing situation.
We do not get involved with rent or lease disputes.
We do not have authority over single family rentals, or condominium rentals.
We do not test water quality or test for mold.
We do not remove insects or pests.
