When to use these instructions
If you recently purchased your property, it may have already been registered by the previous owner. Use these instructions to transfer existing data into your account.
Steps

Enter your landlord and property information
Follow steps 1 through 6 of our First-Time Login instructions.

Add/check parcel
Once you reach the Parcel page, click on Add Property. If the parcel number has already been registered, you will receive this message: A parcel having this parcel number (APN) already exists under this account. Please use a different parcel or contact the CDA for further assistance.
Click Cancel and navigate back to the Parcel page. Click Parcel Transfer.

Request parcel transfer
To request a parcel transfer, you will need to add:
- Parcel number
- Documentation showing proof of purchase (examples include the property deed, property tax statement or real estate closing disclosure)
- Number of units associated with the property
County staff will review the request within three business days and will reach out to the contact information provided with any questions.
An email notification will be sent to both the party requesting the transfer, as well as the previous owner. Once the transfer has been approved by Staff, you will receive an email notification.

Review/update rental history
Once the transfer has been approved, unit and rental history data will be transferred to your account. Review the data to make sure information is up-to-date and in compliance. You will want to check that the Rental History section for each unit has been updated to at least December of the preceding year. By January of the next year, you will need to enter information for the current year.
