The Planning Division promotes diverse and sustainable communities by regulating land use and property development.

Notice: CDA OFFICE CLOSURE, Thursday, September 10th
The Community Development Agency office in Room 308 will be closed Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 11:30a.m. to 4:00p.m. for a mandatory staff meeting.
The office will reopen Friday, September 11, from 8a.m. to 12p.m.

What We Do

We are responsible for writing planning policies and codes, like those found in the Countywide Plan and the Development Code. We also review and issue decisions on applications for various development projects in the unincorporated areas of Marin County.
