Notice of central count, early ballot retrieval, and commencement of vote-by-mail process

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the following central count location has been legally designated by the Registrar of Voters of the County of Marin for June 2, 2026 Statewide Direct Primary Election.

CENTRAL COUNT LOCATION

Marin County Elections, 3501 Civic Center Drive, Suite 121, San Rafael, CA 94903

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the Elections Department shall retrieve ballots cast at early voting locations starting daily after 5 PM on May 23, 2026 and from official vote-by-mail drop box locations starting on or after May 8, 2026 at intervals that meet or exceed the standards provided in section 20136 of Title 2 of the California Code of Regulations. Members of the public who seek further information on drop box collection may contact Marin County Elections or visit www.marinvotes.org.

Early ballot retrieval is open to members of the public for observation. Observers and other members of the public shall not interfere with the orderly retrieval of ballots, including touching election workers or handling official materials.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN to all interested organizations and members of the public that the verifying of signatures on vote-by-mail ballots cast for the June 2, 2026 Statewide Direct Primary Election will commence on or any time after May 4, 2026, and will continue thereafter in the County Elections Office at 3501 Civic Center Drive, Suite 121. On or any time after May 4, 2026, the opening and processing of vote-by-mail ballots will commence. This process will continue until all election results are tabulated and the election is certified. The process is done in a manner which ensures the secrecy of all ballots.

The processing of vote-by-mail ballots is open to members of the public for observation.

Observers and other members of the public shall not interfere with the orderly processing and counting of vote-by-mail ballots, including touching or handling of the ballots or envelopes.
