This Measure was placed on the ballot by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Marin for County Service Area No. 29.
The existing County Service Area No. 29 special tax for funding of ongoing maintenance dredging in Paradise Cay and the north and south entry channels into the San Francisco Bay is set to expire on June 30, 2027. If this Measure is approved by two-thirds of the votes cast on this parcel tax proposal, the existing County Service Area No. 29 parcel tax will be continued for a period of ten years beginning July 1, 2027 and expiring June 30, 2037. Beginning on July 1, 2027, the rate of the parcel tax shall be $2,200 per lot annually. The parcel tax will be increased by 3% each year beginning on July 1, 2028. County Service Area No. 29 estimates revenue from this Measure will average approximately $272,800 dollars annually.
Revenue raised by this parcel tax can be used for the purposes and projects stated in Measure Z. Those stated purposes include spending the funds for ongoing maintenance dredging in the principal waterways of Paradise Cay, along with the north and south entry channels to San Francisco Bay.
