| Executive Director, Education Nonprofit |
I have served as the appointed Trustee for Area 3 on the Marin County Board of Education for the past two years. That experience has deepened my understanding of the county board’s role and the opportunities ahead in supporting students, families, and school districts. I believe every student deserves to be engaged, supported academically, socially, and emotionally, regardless of their background. As the parent of two graduates of the Miller Creek and San Rafael school districts, I care deeply about the success of Marin’s students and schools. I have three decades in educational media and nonprofit leadership, and I hold a Master’s degree in Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. My career began at PBS and continues as I lead a national education nonprofit that reaches millions of educators committed to improving pre-K-12 education. I represent our county board through the Association of California County Boards of Education, where I exchange ideas with colleagues statewide and share Marin’s perspective. I am seeking a full term to continue serving our community and to help ensure the county office remains responsive to the evolving needs of students, families, and schools. I would be honored to earn your vote. |
