I am a San Rafael business owner, long-term community volunteer, and a father of 2 teenagers who went through our local schools. My story is built on commitment and community. I immigrated to the United States as a child and was raised by a single mother. I serve as the Chair of the San Rafael Police Advisory and Accountability Committee and on the boards of the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce, San Rafael Fire Foundation and Peacock Gap HOA. I am deeply invested in our neighborhoods. I offer compassionate leadership backed by practical experience. I am not running to build a political career, but to build partnerships that protect our environment or community and elevate our city. My Top Priorities: Community Safety: Strengthening our Fire and Police Departments. Economic Renewal: Revitalizing downtown, encouraging thoughtful development and optimizing taxpayers dollars. Infrastructure: Investment in our parks, traffic solutions, roads, bike and pedestrian routes. Proudly endorsed by San Rafael Police Association, Mayor Kate Colin, Former Mayor Gary Phillips, Vice Mayor Rachel Kertz, Former Vice Mayor Andrew McCullough, Former Marin County District Attorney Paula Kamena, Lori Frugoli, Former City Attorney Gary Ragghianti, Patty Garbarino and others. | 35 | Marin County Planning Commissioner / Attorney / Father |
The best decision my family ever made was choosing San Rafael as our home. I’m a husband, father, former California Deputy Attorney General, and now senior legal counsel. I was born and raised in California, the son of Mexican American and Jewish parents—both public servants in local government. They instilled in me a commitment to service that has guided my own life’s work. I’m running for San Rafael City Council to bring fresh leadership grounded in experience and focused on making daily life better. I’ve spent nearly a decade turning community priorities into results. I helped secure funding for safer crosswalks and better roads through my work with the Point San Pedro Road Coalition. As Chair of the San Rafael Park and Recreation Commission, I oversaw the building of new playgrounds, park improvements, and public art. On the Marin County Planning Commission, I navigate housing issues while protecting safety, our environment, and local community character. On the San Rafael City Council, I will work for transparent government; safer streets, less traffic, and reliable infrastructure; a more vibrant downtown; housing that respects local character; and climate resiliency. I’m endorsed by Congressman Jared Huffman, Mayor Kate Colin, Councilmember Eli Hill, and community leaders across San Rafael. I’d be honored to earn your vote. |
