Use the MCE Contractor Directory to search for licensed contractors in your area who are versed in electrification and energy-efficient upgrades. You can filter by service types such as battery storage, heat pump water heaters, electrical upgrades, or home EV charger installation.
Tips for hiring a contractor
When planning your home electrification project(s), finding the right contractor is an important step in the process. You should consider:
- Checking that your contractor is properly licensed at the CSLB website
- Getting quotes from at least three contractors
- Asking for estimates to include equipment and labor cost information
- Making a list of questions for your contractors. Suggested questions are available in the resources below.
- Choosing contractor that are familiar with heat pumps for space heating/cooling and/or heat pump water heaters, as well as any available incentives.
