Secured Property Tax Due Date & Late Penalties

Information on property tax due dates and late penalties

Property Tax Bill Mail Date

Annual secured property tax bills are mailed once in October.

Property Tax Due Dates

The Total Amount Due is payable in two installments:

  • 1st installment is due on November 1st
  • 2nd installment is due on February 1st
  • To pay both installments: Remit the Total Amount Due with both installment payment stubs by December 10.

State law extends the deadline to the following Monday if December 10 or April 10 is a weekend. If December 10 or April 10 falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or a legal holiday, no penalty is charged if payment is made by 5:00 p.m. on the next business day.

Late Payments

Submit payment early to avoid penalties.

If the bill is not paid by the deadline, a penalty will be incurred.

  • 1st installment is delinquent at 5:00 p.m. December 10, a 10% penalty attaches.
  • 2nd installment is delinquent at 5:00 p.m. April 10, an additional 10% penalty and $20 cost attaches.

Mail Payments: The payment date is determined by the United States Postal Service postmark. Penalties apply to all payments postmarked after the due date and will be returned if the penalty amount is not included.

Online Bill Pay: When using a bank's online bill pay service, schedule the payment to funds at least 5 business days prior to the delinquency date to ensure sufficient processing time.
