CSA #1 Loma Verde Fund 23210

  • Location of District: Unincorporated southern Novato community of Loma Verde, undeveloped land south of Loma Verde and within the City of Novato.
  • Purpose of the District: Streetlight, Open Space and parkway (median strip) maintenance.
  • Activities of the District: Streetlight, Open Space and parkway ( edian strip) maintenance.  Ongoing maintenance of streetlights, including replacement, repairs and service.

CSA #6 Santa Venetia Fund 23220

The boundaries follow the south fork of the Gallinas Creek from Vendola Drive to the west and extended east to the point of discharge into the San Pablo Bay. CSA 6 is a local taxing authority of property owners located adjacent to the Lower Gallinas Creek waterway. Members of CSA 6 have an interest in maintaining recreational boating access within a reach of the South Fork of Lower Gallinas Creek of approximately 14,000 linear feet and have historically worked with Marin County Department of Public Works to maintain channel depths in the creek by dredging. The channel is prone to sediment buildup that reduces its navigational capacity; it has been dredged four times since 1966; most recently in 1994.

CSA #9 Northbridge Fund 23230

  • Location of District: San Rafael (Northbridge), Marin County, CA
  • Purpose of District: Marin County Board of Supervisors Resolution No. 2000-42: To provide additional landscaping and maintenance to the street and median strip.
  • Activities of District: Funding maintenance and projects on County-assigned park facilities within CSA 9.

CSA #13 Marin Co. Upper Lucas Valley Fund 23240

  • Location of District: Unincorporated Lucas Valley, northwest portion of Las Gallinas Valley and portion of Nunes Ranch.
  • Purpose/Activities of District: Structural fire protection and Open Space maintenance. This special district contracts with the Marinwood Community Services District. One contract is for fire protection services to CSA 13 in Upper Lucas Valley, and the other is to provide fire protection and emergency response services for the County Juvenile Hall site in Upper Lucas Valley. These fire protection and emergency response services, as well as some miscellaneous open space maintenance activities, are funded with property tax revenues approved by CSA 13 residents.

CSA #14 Homestead Valley Fund 23250

  • Location of District: Mill Valley (Homestead Valley), Marin County, CA
  • Purpose of District: Marin County Board of Supervisors Resolution No. 9445 (1967): "This Board does hereby find and determine that the following services described in the Resolution of Intention hereinabove referred to are to be extended County services provided for in County Service Area No. 14, local park and recreation facilities and services."
  • Activities: Funding maintenance and projects on County-assigned park facilities and open space within CSA 14.

CSA #16 Greenbrae Fund 23260

  • Location of District: Greenbrae, Marin County, CA
  • Purpose of District: Marin County Board of Supervisors Resolution No. 72-18: "This Board does hereby find and determine that the following services described in the resolution of intention hereinabove referred to are to be extended county services provided for in County Service Area No. 16: Local park and recreation facilities and services."
  • Activities of District: Funding maintenance and projects on County-assigned park facilities within CSA 16.

CSA #17 Kentfield Fund 23270

  • Location of District: Larkspur and Kentfield, Marin County, CA
  • Purpose of District: Marin County Board of Supervisors Resolution No. 73-248: "This Board does hereby find and determine that the following services described in the resolution of intention hereinabove referred to are to be extended county services provided for in County Service Area No. 17: Local park and recreation facilities and services."
  • Activities: Funding maintenance and projects on County-assigned park facilities within CSA 17.

CSA#17 Police Services Fund 23280

  • Location of District: Kentfield Larkspur Service Area in unincorporated Marin County. Kent Woodlands is a residential community consisting of approximately 550 residential lots.
  • Purpose of District: Provides funding by assessment for law enforcement services in agreement with the Kent Woodlands Property Owners Association.
  • Activities of District: Funds law enforcement services. By agreement, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office provides normal and customary general law enforcement patrol services to Kent Woodlands Property Owners Association residents and property owners residing within the jurisdictional boundaries of CSA-17.

CSA #18 Gallinas Village Area Fund 23290

  • Location of District: San Rafael & Santa Venetia, Marin County, CA
  • Purpose of District: Marin County Board of Supervisors Resolution No. 73-242: "This Board does hereby find and determine that the following services described in the resolution of intention hereinabove referred to are to be extended county services provided for in County Service Area No. 18: Local park and recreation facilities and services."
  • Activities of District: Funding maintenance and projects on County-assigned park facilities within CSA 18.

CSA #19 Fire Protection Services Fund 23300

  • Location: Unincorporated San Rafael communities of McNear's Beach, Bayside Acres, Country Club, California Park, Sun Valley, Merrydale-Los Ranchitos, San Pablo-Tarrant Circle Area and Santa Venetia.
  • Purpose/Activities: Structural fire protection. This special district contracts with the City of San Rafael to operate Fire Station 57 at 3530 Civic Center Drive, directly across from the Marin County Civic Center. The City of San Rafael provides fire protection services to the residents of CSA 19, funded with property tax revenues approved by CSA 19 residents.

CSA #20 Indian Valley Fund 23310

  • Location of District: Novato, Marin County, CA
  • Purpose of District: Marin County Board of Supervisors Resolution No. 74-371: "...the following services described in the resolution of intention hereinabove referred to are to be extended County services provided for in County Service Area No. 20: Local park and recreation facilities and services."
  • Activities of District: Funding maintenance and projects on open space within CSA 20.

CSA #23 Terra Linda Area Fund 23320

  • Location of District: San Rafael, Marin County, CA
  • Purpose of District: Formed on July 1, 1975 for the purpose of open space acquisition for the ridgelands surrounding the Terra Linda Community.

CSA #25 San Marin Area Fund 23330

  • Location of District: San Marin, Marin County, CA
  • Purpose of District: Formed on July, 1975 for the purpose of open space acquisition.
  • Activities: Purchased Open Space Lands surrounding the San Marin community.

CSA #27 Ross Valley Paramedic Fund 23340

  • Location: Corte Madera, Larkspur, Ross, San Anselmo, Fairfax and unincorporated areas of Kentfield and Greenbrae.
  • Purpose/Activities: Paramedic services. This special district exists as a pass-through of special benefit tax assessment revenues approved by voters to help fund fire-department based paramedic services to the residents of the Ross Valley. County Service Area (CSA) 27 is a member of the Ross Valley Paramedic Joint Powers Authority, which also includes the Town of Fairfax, Kentfield Fire District, Sleepy Hollow Fire Protection District, Town of Ross, City of Larkspur, Town of San Anselmo and Corte Madera.

CSA #28 W Marin Paramedic Fund 23350

  • Services: Paramedic service.
  • Purpose: Provide funding to partially offset cost of 24x7x365 availability of paramedic services.
  • Area Served: West Marin communities of Stinson Beach, Bolinas, San Geronimo Valley, Olema, Point Reyes Station, Inverness, Marshall, Tomales, Nicasio, Hicks Valley and Chileno Valley.

CSA #29 Paradise Cay Fund 23360

Paradise Cay is an unincorporated community located on the eastern shore of the Tiburon Peninsula, adjacent to the Town of Tiburon and San Francisco Bay, and approximately 2 miles south of Point San Quentin. Services include maintenance dredging on an as needed basis for boat access and navigation.

CSA #31 County Fire Fund 23370

  • Services: Structural fire protection.
  • Purpose: Partially offset expenses of 24x7x365 operation providing structural fire protection to unincorporated Marin County.
  • Area Served: Unincorporated Marin County excluding areas served by a Fire District.

CSA #33 Stinson Beach Fund 23380

  • Location of District: Stinson Beach, Marin County, CA
  • Purpose of District: Marin County Board of Supervisors Resolution No. 2003-62: "The purpose of County Service Area #33 will be for maintenance of local park, recreation and parkway facilities and services." (Also includes Resolution No. 2003-36)
  • Activities of District: Funding maintenance and projects on County-assigned park facilities in the Town of Stinson Beach.
