Marin County Open Space District Fund 20600
- Location of the District: Marin County
- Purpose of the District: The Marin County Open Space District (MCOSD) manages 34 open space preserves. Preserves are managed primarily for natural resource preservation and, with the exception of trails used by pedestrians, mountain bikers, and equestrians, do not contain recreational facilities of the types found in parks.
- Activities of the District: The Open Space District manages and protects the lands, wildlife, water, botanical, geological, archeological, and historical resources within the District’s 34 preserves. The District’s preserves include approximately 18,500 acres of land with a network of fire roads and trails, redwood groves, outstanding scenic vistas, cascading waterfalls, and other natural amenities for the public to enjoy.
