Before you start

The Marin County Civil Grand Jury helps keep local government honest and efficient. It works to improve local services and policies to benefit our community.  

The jury investigates how local government operates, makes sure agencies and departments are managed well and following the law.   

The Civil Grand Jury is not allowed to investigate: 

  • Federal government agencies 
  • State government agencies 
  • Courts   

They can investigate: 

  • Local government operations 
  • Condition and management of the detention facilities within the county 
  • Willful or corrupt misconduct in office of public officers 
  • Operations, accounts and records of county and other local public agencies, officers, departments or functions

    1. Online
    2. Download (multiple languages available) and print 
  2. Include any correspondence, documents, dates, names and facts that help explain your topic
