Marin County, CA — The County of Marin continues the bargaining process for new collective agreements with its employee groups. The Board of Supervisors formally approved two agreements during its July 8 meeting.

The agreements are with the Sheriff Staff Officers Association and the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists, and Allied Crafts of the United States and Canada (IATSE) Local 16.

The agreements, which come on the heels of other pacts approved on June 24, move Marin closer to finalizing all labor contracts for its approximately 2,000 employees across 10 bargaining units —demonstrating a shared commitment to fair compensation, sustainable benefits, and workplace stability.

“These agreements highlight the power of collaboration,” said County Executive Officer Derek Johnson. “Together, we are supporting the people who deliver essential public services while keeping Marin on a responsible financial path. I’m grateful to our labor partners for working with us to achieve this milestone.”

The July 8 agreements provide:

  • Increased cost-of-living allowances and adjusted salaries to bring classifications closer to the market median.
  • Enhanced benefits to support employees and their families and help position Marin as a North Bay employer of choice.

Marin continues to focus on offering competitive pay, substantial benefits, and a supportive work environment. Reaching tentative agreements with every employee group underscores this commitment and strengthens the services that residents count on every day.
