Body of News Release

Marin County, CA – The Marin County Elections Department is alerting voters about an error on the printed ballots that went out to approximately 80 Marin County military and overseas voters.

Measure G, a proposed tax measure for residents within the Novato Unified School District, had a blank space next to the first oval under the measure text. The blank space is a printing error. The first oval should have the word “YES” next to the oval.

The department has re-sent a corrected ballot to affected voters. The issue does not affect the official ballot for domestic voters.

The error is also visible on the printed sample ballot sent to the Novato Unified School District’s voters. Electronic versions of the sample ballot have also been corrected.

Marin military and overseas voters who do not wish to wait for an updated printed copy of their ballot can request an updated electronic version by email. This ballot can be printed, completed, and returned by mail or fax.

To request an updated sample ballot, please contact Marin Elections at 415-473-6456 during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Pacific Time).

Marin Elections apologizes for any inconvenience or confusion this may have caused.
