Marin County, CA – The County of Marin is inviting residents, community organizations, and disability advocates to help shape a more accessible future by participating in the update of its Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan (SETP).
This countywide effort is an important opportunity to gather real experiences, identify challenges, and ensure that accessibility improvements reflect the needs of the people who rely on County services every day.
This process includes two major components. One is the County is conducting a comprehensive review of how its programs, facilities, parks, digital services, transportation elements, and communication practices serve people with disabilities. Findings from this assessment will guide the development of the Transition Plan, which will outline specific actions and long‑term strategies for improving accessibility throughout County operations and ensuring compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. This process supports the County’s ongoing commitment to equity, inclusion, and the thoughtful stewardship of public services.
To ensure this plan reflects the experiences and needs of the community, Marin County is seeking input from residents, organizations, and advocates. Community feedback will help identify barriers, shape priorities, and guide future accessibility improvements.
Virtual Open Houses
The County will host three virtual open houses via webinar, offering community members a chance to share their experiences, discuss barriers to accessibility, and suggest improvements.

Each meeting will include American Sign Language (ASL)/Certified Deaf Interpreter (CDI) services and Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) captioning.
Additional Ways to Share Feedback
Community members who cannot attend a meeting can provide input at any time can complete the online County of Marin ADA Public Input Survey and email comments to the ADA coordinator.
Anyone may request or pick up a hard copy of the survey in English or Spanish beginning August 7 or email a request to receive a copy in the mail. They will be available at eight Marin County Free Library locations (Corte Madera and Novato branches temporarily closed) and through community partner organizations.
If you need the survey translated into a language other than English or Spanish can also email the staff.
