Body of News Release

San Rafael, CA – The Marin County Fair will feature Daya as the headline concert on July 5 to round out the suite of headline acts. Daya replaces Brandy Clark, who is no longer available to perform because of a tour scheduling conflict.

From the soulful harmonies of En Vogue on July 3, the reggae beats of Ziggy Marley on July 6, and the vibrant sounds of Los Lonely Boys on July 7, Daya, a synth-pop innovator, is also sure to please the crowd. All headline concerts start at 7:30 PM on the Island Stage.

“We are thrilled to include Daya as our July 5 headline act as part of our Fair LGBTQ+ PRIDE day,” said Gabriella Calicchio, Director of the Marin County Department of Cultural Services.

PRIDE Day is one of two themed fair days that will feature special programming, including Drag Story Time, The Glam Show, and DJ Cisco. The other is Latin Heritage Day on July 7, when the fair will showcase LatinX performances on the Community Stage and Los Lonely Boys on the Island Stage.

A Grammy Award winner before the age of 20, Daya earned a double-platinum hit with “Hide Away”, her self-empowered debut single, co-written when she was still in high school. In 2016, she teamed up with the Chainsmokers for “Don’t Let Me Down,” a dance anthem that sold more than 10 million copies in America alone. Daya’s unique pop music, dreamily ethereal one minute and rhythmically kinetic the next, has never sounded brighter or bolder.

Musical entertainment on the Island Stage on the Fourth of July features the Splashback Music Fest (3:30-9 PM) with tribute bands Tainted Love, Super Diamond, Petty Theft, and Foreverland covering hits from the 1970s, ‘80s, and more.
