San Rafael, CA – The Marin County Elections Department will start the manual tally of the November 5 General Election on Monday, November 18, with a random selection of ballots to be manually counted to confirm accuracy of the machine count. The actual tally will begin the following day.
A description of the manual tally process and the date, time, and place of the activities was posted Wednesday, November 13, on the department’s website. All work is performed in the Elections Department, located in Suite 121 of the Marin Civic Center, at 3501 Civic Center Drive in San Rafael.
Voters who had a missing or non-matching signature on their ballot envelope have until 5 PM Sunday, December 1, to return their corrected form. Instructions about returning the signature form letter were posted online on November 13.
The tally will continue weekdays between 8 AM and 5 PM until the process is finished. The election will be certified on December 3 in accordance with Assembly Bill 3184 — urgency legislation that was passed this year.
