Body of News Release

San Rafael, CA – Renowned for presenting world-class music, the Marin County Fair announces a stellar lineup of bands on July 3, 5, 6, and 7, and a day-long tribute band music fest on July 4, all free with the price of general admission.

July 3, 7:30 PM — En Vogue

Legendary! It’s a status very few groups ever attain. But for 30 years and counting, En Vogue has achieved this pinnacle on nothing but pure talent. And they are not letting up now. Still riding high off the global release of 2018’s Electric Café, their first album in 14 years, En Vogue is literally soaring as Terry Ellis, Cindy Herron-Braggs and Rhona Bennett take the group to even greater heights. Formed in 1989 in the Bay Area, En Vogue, comprised then of Ellis, Herron, Dawn Robinson, and Maxine Jones, began their official takeover in 1990 with their hit single, “Hold On” from their critically acclaimed debut album, Born to Sing, which reached No. 1 on both the dance and R&B/Hip-Hop charts. Since then, they have sold over 20 million physical albums. More impressively, they have transitioned effortlessly into the digital age, garnering over 30 million streams and 26 million-plus YouTube views for their Top 6 hit singles alone, which, in addition to “Hold On” includes “Free Your Mind,” “Never Gonna Get It,” “Giving Him Something He Can Feel,” “Don’t Let Go” and “Whatta Man” (featuring Salt N Pepa).

July 4, 3:30-9 PM — Splashback Music Fest

  • 6:30 PM – Super Diamond: Featuring singer Surreal Neil, Super Diamond pays tribute to beloved singer/songwriter/performer and American pop icon Neil Diamond.
  • 5 PM – Petty Theft: Since 2003, Petty Theft has been performing Tom Petty’s songs true to the originals and in the spirit of the Heartbreakers’ live shows.
  • 3:30 PM – Foreverland: This band has mesmerized audiences around the country with their one-of-a-kind performances of the music of Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5.

July 5, 7:30 PM — Brandy Clark

A Grammy and CMA Award-winner, Brandy Clark is one of her generation’s most esteemed songwriters and musicians. In the midst of yet another landmark year, Clark won Best Americana Performance at this year’s 66th Grammy Awards for her song “Dear Insecurity,” featuring 11-time Grammy-winner Brandi Carlile — Clark’s first Grammy win. The song is from Clark’s self-titled album, which was produced by Carlile and features her most personal songwriting to date. Released to overwhelming critical acclaim, Brandy Clark landed on several “Best of 2023” lists including NPR Music, Billboard, Rolling Stone, Variety, Los Angeles Times and Forbes, who calls the album “an Americana Masterpiece.” In addition to her work as a solo artist, Clark has written songs such as "A Beautiful Noise," the Grammy-nominated duet performed by Brandi Carlile and Alicia Keys, and Kacey Musgraves' "Follow Your Arrow." She also composed the music and lyrics for the hit musical comedy Shucked alongside her longtime collaborator, Shane McAnally. With the show, Clark won Outstanding Music at the 67th Drama Desk Awards and was nominated for Best Original Score at the 76th Tony Awards, with Shucked receiving nine Tony nominations overall last year.

July 6, 7:30 PM — Ziggy Marley

Ziggy Marley is an eight-time Grammy winner, Emmy winner, musician, producer, activist, and humanitarian who has cultivated a legendary career for close to 40 years. The eldest son of Bob and Rita Marley, Ziggy has hewed his own path as a musical pioneer, infusing the reggae genre with funk, blues, rock, and other elements through mindful songcraft. Equal parts master storyteller and motivational guide, he deftly explores issues from environmental awareness to self-empowerment, social injustice to political inequity, while returning again and again to the transformative power of love. And over the past 15 years with his own companies, Tuff Gong Worldwide and Ishti Music, Marley has complete control of his masters and publishing; alongside his charity URGE – benefiting the well-being of children in Jamaica, Africa, and North America.

July 7, 7:30 PM — Los Lonely Boys

Los Lonely Boys speak the typically unspoken language of brotherhood out loud in their music. The Grammy Award-winning multiplatinum San Angelo, Texas, trio — Henry Garza (vocals, guitar), Jojo Garza (bass, vocals), and Ringo Garza (drums) — have welcomed audiences into their family with open arms since emerging back in 1996. 2004’s seminal self-titled, Los Lonely Boys, reached double-platinum status and yielded the gold-certified generational smash “Heaven,” which cracked the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 and notched a Grammy Award in the category of “Best Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.” In its wake, Sacred bowed at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, paving the way for fan favorites Forgiven (2008), Rockpango (2011), and Revelation (2013). Along the way, they collaborated with legends such as Santana, Willie Nelson, and Dr. John in addition to performing everywhere from the World Series to CMT’s Crossroads.
