Body of News Release

Marin County, CA – West Marin’s rural and coastal communities are spread across a large and geographically diverse region, making access to services an ongoing challenge. Two new County mobile vehicles will help bring library resources and Health and Human Services support closer to residents.

Together, the BiblioCoaster and HHS mobile outreach vehicle mark an exciting step toward bringing more County services and resources directly to West Marin communities.

“The BiblioCoaster and HHS’s new mobile outreach vehicle will help bring important resources and support closer to West Marin residents. By connecting people with library services, public benefits and help navigating resources, these vehicles are a practical way to meet communities where they are and respond to the region’s distinct needs,” said District 4 Supervisor Dennis Rodoni.

The Marin County Free Library’s (MCFL) BiblioCoaster will bring books, technology, programs, and learning opportunities to communities across West Marin. The Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) mobile outreach vehicle will help residents connect with public benefits—including Medi-Cal, CalFresh, CalWORKs, and General Relief—and navigate other available resources.  The HHS mobile vehicle will visit all communities in West Marin and collaborate with schools, medical clinics, community centers, and local businesses to set up regular availability via appointments or drop-in sessions.

Residents are invited to celebrate the debut of both vehicles on Tuesday, October 27, from 4 to 5 p.m. in the courtyard of the Dance Palace, 503 B Street in Point Reyes Station. The event will include a ribbon cutting, remarks from Supervisor Rodoni and County leadership, vehicle tours, and an opportunity to meet staff and learn about available services.

Find schedules, stops, programs, and FAQs on the BiblioCoaster webpage. Information about HHS mobile services available in West Marin can be found on the West Marin Multi-Services Center webpage or by contacting the main line at (415) 473-3800.
