The following is a statement by the Marin County Board of Supervisors Racial Equity Subcommittee, in collaboration with several Marin cities, towns, and community organizations, against voter intimidation:

“We stand with our communities from Marin City to Dillon Beach; Novato to Sausalito; and Inverness to the Canal District. Every member of our community has a right to safety, security, inclusion, respect, and religious freedom.

“Marin will not tolerate reprehensible attempts at Voter Suppression and Intimidation. Voting is a fundamental right, upon which our democracy rests. Please talk to a poll worker if you witness any such behavior at the polls. If a poll worker isn’t accessible, contact (415) 473-7191 between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 3rd if you witness any attempts at voter suppression or intimidation.

“Over the weekend, residents of the Marin City community were subjected to race-based hate speech and acts of blatant intimidation. We will not tolerate this in Marin County.

“Marin is a community that stands against Hate, Bigotry, Racism, Sexism, Anti-Semitism, Ableism, Misogyny, Ageism, Homophobia, Religious Intolerance, and Xenophobia.”
