Marin County, CA – The County of Marin celebrated the opening of the Southern Marin County Services Annex, a new community-based center designed to improve access to County services for residents throughout Southern Marin. The ribbon-cutting event took place June 11 and official public opening date is Monday, June 15.

Located at 630 Drake Avenue in Marin City, the annex brings multiple County services together in one convenient location, helping residents connect with support closer to home. Services available at the annex include assistance with Medi-Cal, food assistance with CalFresh, CalWORKs employment assistance, finance assistance with General Relief, behavioral health services, nutrition help from the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program, and services for older adults from Aging and Adult Services.

Additional County departments and community partners will also offer services and office hours on a regular basis.

The annex, located across a walkway from the boxing gym, is the culmination of years of planning, collaboration, and community engagement focused on improving access to services in Southern Marin. Community members and local partners helped shape the vision for the space, and the County will continue gathering feedback as the annex evolves to meet community needs.

“Everyone deserves access to the services and support they need to thrive,” said Marin County Executive Derek Johnson. “The Southern Marin County Services Annex helps remove barriers and brings important resources closer to the communities we serve.”

Ida Green, Senior Program Coordinator and on-site lead with Marin Health and Human Services, added, “We want every resident who walks through our doors to feel welcomed and supported.”

The annex reflects the County's ongoing commitment to equity by reducing transportation and access barriers and creating a welcoming place where residents can connect with multiple services under one roof.

The County is appreciative to the Marin City Community Services District, community partners, and County staff members whose collaboration helped make the annex possible.

Starting June 15, the Southern Marin County Services Annex is open weekdays from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, excluding a daily closure from noon to 1 PM.
