San Rafael, CA -- On Tuesday, October 31, the Marin County Probation Department and partnering agencies conducted unannounced searches on registered sex offenders and probationers with multiple DUIs or gang offenses.

Thirty searches were conducted and, while no arrests were made, several electronic devices were seized for further investigation. In addition to registered sex offenders, it was imperative to remain vigilant on gang activity in the communities and ensuring DUI offenders were not under the influence of alcohol or operating a vehicle while families were engaging in Halloween festivities.

The multiagency operation was conducted with the San Rafael Police Department, Novato Police Department, and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation K-9 Unit.

Routine operations ensure community safety by exercising due diligence to make field contacts with defendants who are under supervision. Marin County Probation is committed to providing services for defendants, including treatment, counseling, employment, and housing opportunities while maintaining a heightened awareness of community safety and accountability.
