Marin County, CA – As it continues the counting of returned ballots, the Marin County Elections Department will start the manual tally of the June 2 Statewide Direct Primary Election at 10 AM Wednesday, June 17, and the public is invited to attend.

The department made an update of ballots counted on Friday, June 12, and planned another one for late afternoon on Monday, June 15. Monitor the website for the latest results.

Staff will use a random number generator to determine a random selection of ballots to be manually counted to confirm accuracy of the machine count. By hand, officials will count at least 1% of all ballots tabulated. The tally will be performed in the Elections Department, located in Suite 121 of the Marin Civic Center, 3501 Civic Center Drive in San Rafael.

A description of the manual tally process and the date, time, and place of the activities is posted, on the department’s website.

Voters who had a missing or non-matching signature on their ballot envelope have until 5 PM Wednesday, June 24, to return their corrected form in time to have their ballots counted.

The tally will continue weekdays between 8 AM and 5 PM until the process is finished. The election will be certified on June 26 in accordance with Assembly Bill 3184.
