Body of News Release
Marin County, CA – Marin County's Board of Supervisors has launched Beyond the Board, a new podcast series that puts supervisors in direct conversation with the community and staff who shape life in Marin County.
The podcast is designed to give residents a front-row seat to county government in a format that's accessible, honest, and built around real dialogue. Each episode is hosted by a different supervisor, with conversations centered on the issues that matter most to the communities they serve.
Episode 1, now available, features Supervisor Colbert alongside Deputy County Executive and Chief Digital and Innovation Officer Crosby Burns and Sleepy Hollow Board Member Eric Wald. The three discuss FixItMarin, the County's new non-emergency issue reporting tool that allows unincorporated Marin residents to report and track neighborhood concerns in real time. Wald helped pilot the tool before its public launch and shares his firsthand experience with how the County responded.
"FixItMarin is a great example of what happens when the county and the community build something together," said Supervisor Colbert. "Eric's experience as a pilot participant made the tool better for everyone, and I wanted residents to hear that story directly from him."
The episode covers how FixItMarin came to be, what the pilot process looked like, and what residents can expect from the tool going forward. It runs approximately 20 minutes and is available on Spotify and the County of Marin's YouTube channel.
New episodes of Beyond the Board will release regularly throughout the year, with each supervisor hosting a conversation rooted in their district and community priorities.
