Marin County, CA – Are you interested in making a positive impact on the lives of older adults in Marin County? The Marin County Area Agency on Aging is looking for dedicated volunteers to support its home-delivered meal program, commonly referred to as "Meals on Wheels." This program provides essential nutrition support to vulnerable, homebound older adults in our community.

Join us for an informational presentation to learn more about the Meals on Wheels program and how you can get involved. You can choose from one of the following sessions:

What You'll Learn:

  • Discover the purpose and scope of the Meals on Wheels program.
  • Understand the impact of this program on older adults in our community.
  • Learn about the rewards of helping homebound older adults receive nutritious meals.

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Client Assessment Volunteers: Volunteers are needed to conduct regular assessments of program clients. This crucial role helps ensure that eligible older adults can continue to receive the support they need. Commit to a minimum one-year term and contribute at least four hours a week. Training and background checks will be provided.
  • Office Aide Volunteers: Help assemble welcome packets and provide office assistance. Your support will streamline program operations. Hours are flexible and will be determined by mutual agreement. Orientation will be provided.

Important Information:

  • All volunteers will be part of the Marin County Health and Human Services Department's MarinShares Marin County Volunteers program.
  • Volunteers are required to complete harassment-prevention and privacy training and sign a volunteer agreement.
  • The Area Agency on Aging operates within the County's Health and Human Services Office of Aging and Adult Services.
