Body of News Release
Marin County, CA – Marin County’s young people are invited to step into the world of local government at the 3rd Annual Youth Town Hall, an opportunity to engage directly with political leaders from across Marin.
The event takes place Sunday, April 27, from 2-4 PM in the Marin County Board of Supervisors chamber at the Civic Center (3501 Civic Center Drive, Suite 330, San Rafael).
The student-led event provides a rare opportunity for youth to ask questions, share concerns, and hear directly from their local elected officials in an open, informal setting. The event is free and includes refreshments.
Meet Community Leaders
The 2025 panel features elected officials from across Marin, including mayors from Belvedere, Fairfax, Mill Valley, Novato, San Anselmo, and Tiburon, Vice Mayors from Larkspur and Ross, and a Councilmember from San Rafael.
The event will begin with a panel discussion, followed by a Q&A session, during which students can interact directly with the community leaders. Attendees will also have the chance to connect with other civic-minded students and learn more about getting involved in local government.
Reserve Your Spot!
Students and their families are encouraged to RSVP in either English or Spanish to secure a seat.
Led by Students, For Students
The Youth Town Hall is organized and produced entirely by students from the Student Elections Ambassador Program (SEAP), a youth-led voter outreach initiative founded in 2018. SEAP is supported by the Marin County Elections Department, the League of Women Voters of Marin County, and the Marin County Office of Education.
Over the past five years, SEAP student ambassadors have registered more than 3,500 new and future voters across Marin, helping shape the next generation of civic leaders. With youth voter turnout still lagging behind other age groups, SEAP aims to empower young people with the knowledge and resources to become active participants in democracy. SEAP welcomes new enrollees.
