The CalGold website helps businesses find permit and licensing information for their industry and location. It provides links to the appropriate state, local, and federal agencies that issue business permits, licenses, and registrations.

Examples of Common Permits & Business Needs

  • Sellers Permit: If you plan to sell or lease retail or wholesale goods, you’ll need a Seller’s Permit or “resale number” from the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA).
  • Alcohol License: If your business will be selling alcoholic beverages, you will need an Alcohol Beverage License. The cost varies depending on license type and should be applied for well in advance of when you need it. More information is available through the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC).
