The Countywide Priority Setting Committee (PSC) helps guide the County’s use of federal and state funding for affordable housing, community infrastructure, and public services. The Committee plays an important role in establishing funding priorities and reviewing applications from local nonprofit organizations and public agencies to help inform how available funds are allocated across Marin County.
Apply to Serve on the Priority Setting Committee
The County of Marin is currently accepting applications for two community member openings on the Countywide Priority Setting Committee.
Applications are open September 21, 2026 through 5:00 PM on October 23, 2026.
Current openings are available for residents representing:
- Upper Ross Valley – Fairfax, Ross, San Anselmo, and neighboring unincorporated communities
- Southern Marin – Belvedere, Mill Valley, Sausalito, Tiburon, and neighboring unincorporated communities, including Marin City, Strawberry, and Tam Valley
Community members help represent the interests of racial and ethnic minorities, people with disabilities, and other communities historically underrepresented in local funding decisions.

PSC Composition
The PSC includes 18 members representing all areas of Marin. The group includes:
- one member of the Board of Supervisors,
- 10 elected officials representing Marin’s cities and towns, and
- 7 community members, specifically those representing the protected classes.
The inclusion of community members in the group began in 2012, with the goal of bringing more diverse perspectives to the group. Under federal laws protected classes include:
- race
- color
- national origin
- religion
- sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity)
- familial status
- disability
