Transition & Stability

Supporting displaced families in West Marin by ensuring access to critical resources, fostering stability, and promoting long-term resilience.

The Transition and Stability workgroup aims to support displaced families in West Marin by ensuring access to critical resources, fostering stability, and promoting long-term resilience. This workgroup will bring together community partners, service providers, and key stakeholders to coordinate efforts that address the immediate and ongoing needs of families experiencing displacement.

The initial focus is on families being displaced from the Point Reyes National Seashore and other ranches with critically untenable and/or substandard housing situations. The end goal is to establish a lasting network capable of supporting local families facing significant hardship in the future.

Point Reyes National Seashore Settlement - Tenant Transition

Tenants living on ranches involved in the Point Reyes National Seashore Settlement as of October 2024 are eligible for assistance from The Nature Conservancy (TNC) through their Transition Support Program. TNC, through their contracted service providers, West Marin Community Services and Associated Right of Way Services, have met with individual tenant households to discuss their specific transition support needs. The County has also set up a  West Marin Health & Human Services Center hotline number which was provided during your meeting with Associated Right of Way Services and West Marin Community Services.

The TNC Transition Support Program is the only element of the transition support services in West Marin that is exclusive to settlement ranch tenants. All other West Marin residents can benefit from the work the County and our community partners are doing to advance opportunities and quality of life for ranch tenants.
