This guide gives information on accepted wall and ceiling materials for food facilities. It's important to have durable, easily cleanable finishes which are better able to withstand repeated cleaning operations. Light colored wall and ceiling finishes are required as a means of monitoring sanitation by readily revealing dirt, grease, rodent rub marks, and insect excrement or vomit.
Materials not listed may be submitted for evaluation if they meet the standards and installation requirements indicated in the guide.
