Tamalpais Community Services District (Community Center) Use Permit Amendment (P5014)

The applicant requests Use Permit Amendment approval to allow outdoor amplified music for specific events at the approximately 64,776-square-foot site of a community center (Tamalpais Valley Community Center), located in the unincorporated area of Mill Valley (the community of Tamalpais). The events for which outdoor amplified music is being requested include: (1) five events (“Creekside Friday” or similar) on Fridays during June, July, and August, with outdoor amplified music from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; (2) one event (“Oktoberfest”) on a Saturday in September or October, with outdoor amplified music from 2:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; and (3) one event (“Earth Day” or similar) on a Saturday or Sunday in April, with outdoor amplified music from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Additionally, the request for Use Permit Amendment approval includes authorization for ancillary activities related to Debris Day and Household Hazardous Waste Day (HHWD) to occur at the community center site (Tamalpais Valley Community Center).

Conditional Use Permit Amendment approval is required pursuant to Marin County Code Section 22.48.050(B) because the project entails changes to required conditions and operating standards of a previously approved Conditional Use Permit.
