Project Description

The applicant is requesting Coastal Development Permit approval to construct a new pedestrian bridge over Fitzhenry Creek connecting the community center facility at 30 Belvedere Avenue and 10 Willow Avenue in Stinson Beach. The applicant is also proposing to rebuild two existing structures on APN 195-211-06. It appears the two structures are proposed to be rebuilt in the same location and at same height.
The proposed bridge is 7 feet wide by 34 feet long. Bridge abutment will be 18 inches drilled concrete piers with concrete grade beam, and the bridge beam and bridge decking will be cedar with hog wire bridge guards under a cedar railing supported by stainless steel stanchions. The overall bridge and ramp system would be 50 feet in length with a span of approximately 34 feet over the creek. The proposed bridge would be approximately 15 feet above the creek bed.
Coastal Development Permit approval is required pursuant to Marin County Coastal Zoning Code section 20.68.060. Design Review approval is pursuant to Marin County Code Chapter 22.42.
