Before you start
Attorneys with County Counsel practice civil law in many different areas, including land use, environmental law, torts, child welfare, health, and constitutional law. As a law clerk, you will be exposed to a diverse and dynamic civil legal practice.
You will gain skills and experience in many areas, including:
- Law and motion practice
- Discovery
- Statutory analysis
- Writing legal memoranda
- Preparing witness examinations
- Interacting with expert witnesses
Opportunities for court appearances are also available if you are certified to appear in court.
