Use Project Sunroof to analyze your home
Google's Project Sunroof tool can help you decide if solar might work for your home. All you have to do is enter your home address into the tool. It uses satellite images of your home to:
- Analyze your roof space
- Estimate the amount of sunlight you get
- Give suggestions about the type of installation you might need
- Estimate your costs and savings
Find a contractor
If you decide to install solar at your home, get bids from at least two different contractors. Try getting at least one from a local contractor. Contact our team if you have questions after talking to contractors and receiving bids.

Bay Area SunShares
Each fall, Bay Area SunShares organizes a group-buy program for Bay Area residents to install solar and/or battery backup systems in their homes. They will vet local contractors and create a short list of qualified and reputable companies to choose from. This can help take some of the guess work away from homeowners, and they can receive a discount for their solar and/or battery backup project.
Visit the Bay Area SunShares website for information on the next group-buy campaign.
