Marin County, CA — Nonprofit and community-based organizations have until noon Tuesday, September 2 to apply for the County of Marin’s Community Grants & Investment Program.
Launched this summer, the program modernizes the County’s nonprofit funding process by combining two older programs into a single system. The County will award $1.65 million in grants, ranging from $1,000 to $50,000, for one-time projects in 2026 that address community needs and advance Board of Supervisors priorities: affordable housing, equity, disaster preparedness, climate resilience, community vitality, and infrastructure.
“Community organizations often see emerging needs before government does,” said Josh Swedberg, the County’s Budget Director. “This program lets us back their ideas with resources so solutions come from within the community itself.”
Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) nonprofits, as well as tax-exempt community groups with a fiscal sponsor. Each organization may submit one application with up to three proposed activities. Applicants do not need matching funds; however, collaboration and additional funding sources can strengthen proposals.
Organizations must apply through the County’s new online portal by noon Tuesday, September 2.
