Need to know
- You can make a comment at a meeting online, by phone, or in-person.
- The 1-3 minute time limit for making your comment, set by the Board President during the meeting.
- Meetings are open to the public and anyone can make a public comment at a meeting. Comments will become part of the public record.
- You can also submit a comment before a meeting.
Before you start
Review the agenda and determine if the comment you want to make is about a topic that is on the agenda or not.
- If the topic is on the agenda, you can make your comment after the board discusses the item.
- If the topic is not on the agenda, you’ll need to make your comment at the beginning of the meeting during “open time for public expression.”
The meetings and public comment line are offered in English. If you need interpretation in another language, please request it at least 72 hours before the meeting and we will do everything possible to make an accommodation.
What to do
There are 3 ways to make a comment at a meeting:
In person
- Go to meeting location: Board of Supervisors Chambers, 3501 Civic Center Drive, Room 330, San Rafael 94903
- Get in line for the podium when you want to make a comment.
- When it’s your turn, make your comment into the microphone at the podium.
Online
- Join the meeting on Zoom.
- Enter the meeting ID: 947 4251 8384.
- Enter the password: 352533.
- Use the “Raise Hand” button to let the moderator know that you would like to comment.
By phone
- Call 669-900-6833 or toll-free 833-548-0276.
- Enter the meeting ID: 947 4251 8384#.
- Press # for the attendee ID.
- Enter the password: 352533#.
- Press *9 to let the moderator know you want to make a comment.
