In 2024, California passed Senate Bill 707, which updates the Ralph M. Brown Act and requires local governments to provide two-way telephonic or audio-visual participation for public meetings by July 2026. These upgrades help Marin County meet those requirements and strengthen access for remote participants.

Upgrades include:

  • New microphones and monitors
  • Improved audio quality
  • Better camera angles and higher-quality video for livestreams
  • Enhanced graphics and display tools
  • Stronger system stability
