Lomita Drive Road Rehabilitation Project

Resumen

Project Description

Description

The Marin County Department of Public Works is proposing to perform pavement rehabilitation and build approximately 500 linear feet of new sidewalk along Lomita Drive, closing several gaps in the pedestrian network. As part of the Project, the County will remove vegetation, construct sidewalks, new curbs and gutters, pedestrian curb ramp access, driveway approaches, concrete driveway conforms, storm drain maintenance hole cover(s), drop inlet turning structures, storm drain infrastructure, and will complete grinding and paving, or micro-surfacing, of the full 2,900 linear feet of pavement. The County will also adjust utilities and pavement markings as needed. Some excavation and some infill will be necessary to correct the topography of the road for improved surface drainage. Excavations for road grading will be less than 18 inches below ground surface. The County will also adjust utilities and pavement markings as needed.

Subsurface work and excavation/trenching will be required for stormwater infrastructure. New or reconfigured subsurface storm drains would be installed at the western end of the Project near Edna Maguire Elementary School, along the north and the south side of Lomita Drive within the Right-of-Way (ROW) adjacent to the southern parcel line of the school, and on the north side of Lomita Drive within the ROW between Shell Road and the eastern end of the Project site. These new or replaced storm drains would connect into the existing storm drain system along Lomita Drive. Trenching and other ground-disturbing work associated with the storm drain system improvements would have a maximum depth of 10 feet below ground surface.
