What we do
We respond to many different types of emergencies in Marin. Our teams are trained to respond to fires, hazardous material incidents, search and rescue operations, and more. Our division also:
- Manages various Special Operations teams. This team includes firefighters trained in water rescue, urban search and rescue in confined spaces, and hazardous material response.
- Manages the Emergency Command Center. This center provides dispatching and resource coordination throughout Marin County.
- Provides statewide mutual aid. Our team regularly responds to large wildfires in the state. Our teams are dispatched to support during disasters that have exceeded the local agencies' ability to manage.
