What are the different types of CEQA reviews?
Negative Declarations and Mitigated Negative Declarations
- Negative Declarations are prepared for projects that will not have a potentially significant effect on the environment.
- Mitigated Negative Declarations (MNDs) are prepared for projects that would have one or more potentially significant effects on the environment, but the effects are reduced to less than significant with mitigation.
Environmental Impact Reports
- Environmental Impact Reports (EIRs) are more comprehensive reviews that are prepared for larger projects, or when it is determined that a project will likely have a significant, unavoidable impact on the environment.
